This weeks Rainbow Snippet is coming from a piece that I’m writing for a creative writing course. I’ve just finished the literary critique assignment (though I need to proof it again before I hand it in) and the next assignment is finally two-thousand words of our own writing. It is set in Okinawa and will (hopefully, once I get a chance to complete it and research it better) a rom-suspense. This is from the first draft… it is very rough.
And why did he have to be so damn fucking attractive? A tempting piece of… everything, wrapped up in khaki. Ohtsuki’s anger at the continued American stance that the incidents were merely ‘accidents’ didn’t even begin to tamp down the arousal that ebbed and flowed in his veins depending on how close he was to McAllister. It infuriated him more that the damned man didn’t appear to be affected at all, but then, their tumble in the sheets of Ohtsuki’s bed might have meant nothing to him. Must have if he could continue to sit there blank faced, looking bored out of his damn mind, when Ohtsuki’s decision to stand on the other side of his desk had been stop himself from reaching out to touch him.

Ouch…one-sided attraction hurts, but I wonder if it’s as one-sided as it appears?

Love the last line!

I agree. That last line is awesome. And I wonder how much of the American’s poker face is to keep his thoughts away from things that would make his body betray him.
